Food Stuff, Recipes & A Giveaway
Happy Monday to you all!!
I'm not going to make this long today. I have a couple of post that I will put up in the coming days that may be long.
I have a question. As I read all of your blogs and prepare for my own WLS, I am interested in advice and recipes. If you can tell someone one or two things that you didn't know before or during your experience what what it be? Also is their a recipe for something that you just have to share. Be it a must eat for when you are on the mushies or just an overall great recipe for someone who has had WLS. Let me know. I am a recipe junkie. I own soooooo many cook books and I am always on the internet for more recipes. I do find though that I don't have enough when it comes to being banded.
Shelly over at www.theworldaccordingtoeggface.com (or you can just click her name) is generous enough to giveaway a fabulous Cuisinart 1-1/2-Quart Ice-20 Automatic Ice Cream Maker!! Go over to her blog, check it out and enter.
Have a wonderful day and week!!

I'm not much of a cook, I sort of eat like a 7-year old. A mono-eater.
Before WLS I wish I'd known what aches and pains to expect. Knowing what they are and about how long they'll last, makes them much more tolerable. None of the docs told me about the back, shoulder & neck pain. I thought there was something really wrong with me. Come to find out that it's totally normal and it went away in a few weeks. This is a great place to ask questions, too. You are gonna do great!
Thanks Joey. I found out from another blog that the doctors blow your stomach up with CO2. I asked the nurse before I got my EGD done and she said yes. Its to be able to see what they are doing. They try to suck all the air out, but of course can't get it all.
Thanks for all your help.
I think my fav food was meatloaf and mashed sweet potato when I was on mushies. I have a separate blog for my recipes (not always band friendly) so you should create your own. I also have a link on my blog for recipes that others have posted which look good. You can see it here. http://rollercoasterdieting.blogspot.com/p/food-tracking.html.
One of my favorite things to eat during the mushy stage was polenta. I make mine out of a box and eat it with a spoon -- sometimes with a bit of marinara over it and sometimes with a bit of parmesan on top. It's so good.
Thanks Sandy Lee & Maria. I will definitely be seeing if I can incorporate these.
@Maria, I just looked up a recipe for Polenta. I've heard of the food, but never knew it could be that easy. It almost looks like grits, but better.
