A ...GAIN!!

So I knew it would happen so I didn't freak out when I saw that my devil of a scale was saying that I was 2lbs. up. Ugggh!! So that busts up my 240s and put me back at 250 even. That's ok cause I know what I need to do. I missed two days of exercising and kinda ate a little more than I should. I'm cool. I know this is part of the journey. My birthday is on Sunday so my family has planned a surprise for me. They are trying their best to include my new eating habits in the celebration. They ask could I eat pound cake. I told them yes. So instead of the big thick sweet frosted cake I am having pound cake with lite whipped cream and strawberries (my favorite). They know I don't like big frosted cakes anyway.

SN: I'm wondering should I purchase the Weight Watchers scale that I saw in the magazine. I read on another blog that someone got it. I wonder if it is worth the hype. Anybody got one and want to give a quick review? I just hate that my scale has a 2lb. difference from my doctor.

I think I will have to up my exercise because I have been getting in about 225 minutes (45 mins. 5 days a week) of exercise a week. I do the Leslie Sansone video and brisk walk 3 miles with a little jogging in between. I think I will have to add a day. I do however see the difference in my body. I now have a waistline and as my baby sister terms it a "booty", LOL!! I had to check myself out from the back. Shocker I tell ya!! Today I have on this suit jacket that I bought years ago and it is soooo big on me. I look like a kid playing in my momma's closet in this thing. I have to get a new suit jacket. I'm thinking of the cute ones that hit at the waist. This one is long and outdated style wise, but hey when you are limited on funds, something has to suffer.

Anyway, just wanted to check in with ya. I will come back with my ghost story. Stay tuned.

Glad you are staying calm. You'll be back in the 240s in no time.

That sounds like a good workout routine! Maybe instead of adding a day, try adding weights? I tell ya, when I started doing the Jillian Michaels "Shred" DVD I saw big drops in my weight.

You are doing so great!!

I believe there are a couple versions of the WW scale, but I did buy one. It is within a couple ounces of my doc's. I like it because you can put in 3 or 4 people's info: age, height, and it calculates BMI, bone mass, water something or another. The only thing I really care about if the BMI, but whatever. It was only 10 more than the other scales I was looking at (except the el cheapo ones), and I didn't really want to spend the extra, but my husband talked me into it. I like it, so it just depends on what you want to spend. It was 40 at Target for mine.

Oh yeah, Happy Birthday!

Thank you ladies.

@Joey, I got to get some advice on the weight lifting. Since I have had lymph nodes removed during my mystectomy, doctor caution against lift/carrying anything heavy as to not get lymphadema. I need to find someone who can give me some good advice.

Think I'm gonna call my physical therapist.

@Jusawallflower, thanks for that info. I'm gonna see if I can find it.

It's your birthday on 10-10-10. So cool and you will never get those numbers again. Consider it lucky! I hate those gooey cakes and much prefer a nice dessert, although chocolcate has to be in the mix!

BTW, I am working on losing the 3 pounds which are stuck to my butt from the last weekend of too much fun and drink. But that's life and you will see the scale go down.

Funny how you know about your "surprise" birthday party. But at least they are thinking of you. Have lots of fun.

I have realized that right before I have a big loss I gain....don't know if it will be the same for you, but I will keep my fingers crossed! Someday we will get to our sweet spot, and this will all be a distant memory! HA HA! ;)

Ug, gains happen but you'll get it off by next week! I have a weight watchers scale & I think it's great. It always weighs me the same. I think it'll be hard to find a scale the same as the doctors', but if you find one that's consistent at home, I think that's good too.

I do the Leslie Sansone video too on the days I'm not doing the C25K. I love her videos!

It probably is a little peak of weight before a big loss. I will keep my fingers crossed. *Maria*-blogger from "This one time at BAND Camp..." Follow my journey at mybigfatbandgeeklife.blogspot.com

Great attitude about the gain - they happen and you'll be rid of them again quickly. Happy Birthday, I hope it's the beginning of your best year yet!

yeah the occasional gains do suck, but you know it's not a constant thing, so don't stress about it, ok? Up your protien and you will see it drop again!!
