A little pain and Pouch Test?

Another quick post.

I haven't started on my assignments yet, but I will get to them. At least I read the dang thang, along with some blogs.

Ok so lately I have been having a sort of nagging pain that comes and goes around my port site. Not sure what it is, but it happens at night mostly. When I lay on my stomach it starts, so I flip on my side or on my back and it stays. It's not excruciating pain, but pain nonetheless. I'm wondering should I go to my doctor and demand a flouro test. I so hate dealing with him. I am going to call and talk to his nurses whom I love. Any thoughts?

That brings me to this question. Do I need to do a pouch test? Does that have anything to do with the port pain? BTW, what the heck is a pouch test? I'm going to scourer the blogs to find out.

you should definitely get any port pain checked out by the doc... at the very least call the office and describe what you are feeling and they will determine if you need to come in for an office visit.... hope all is well, good to hear from you!

I had issues with weirdness around my port sometimes. I asked my doc about it, he felt around, said it was okay. It comes and goes sometimes. Maybe from laying on it, or pulling or something. Anyway, I'd ask next time you went, just to be sure. You never know. As for the pouch test, I'm on day four right now. The first two days are liquids. the third day is soft protein, like tuna or other stuff. Fourth day is firm protein, such as ground beef. Can't remember the fifth. It is used to refocus you. To get over

Thanks Ladies!! As much as I have been through health wise, I have a tendency to dismiss little pains and not look into them.

@Justawallflower, thanks for the info on the pouch test!!
